THREE YEARS AGO: On Jan. 11, 2023, MinistryWatch reported that former Celebration Church Pastor Stovall Weems and his wife settled with First Citizens Bank over a claim stating they defaulted over $700,000 in unpaid debt related to their exotic animal hunting preserve. Then in July, Weems filed a lawsuit against the Association of Related Churches. In July 2025, MinistryWatch reported that the prolonged legal battles surrounding Weems continue to unfold in the courts, with multiple lawsuits, appeals, and dismissals shaping a complex timeline of events.
