Ministries Making a Difference

ChinaAid, TransWorld Radio, Mission Eurasia, Unto

Mission Eurasia, with its headquarters in Ukraine, is continuing to respond to the needs of endangered Ukrainians, both in-country and in neighboring countries where refugees have fled, through its Ukraine Emergency Relief Fund. As of March 5, the nonprofit says it had delivered more than 3,000 food packages and established three refugee assistance centers to help with short- and long-term care.

The ChinaAid team released its 2021 Annual Persecution Report last week, detailing escalated oppression of Chinese house churches. Each year’s report is based on research of persecution across China by ChinaAid sources within China. The nonprofit says that while not entirely exhaustive, 2021’s Annual Report is one of the most comprehensive overviews of persecution within China across the last year.

TransWorld Radio added a second transmitter in Eastern Europe to strengthen the signal of its Christian programs to people in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia, two of which are in the Ukrainian language and another two in Russian.

The Sierra Centro District of the Church of the Nazarene distributed more than 7,000 tablets to children from local area churches. The tablets are part of the district’s strategy to create disciples through holistic development using resources such as music, sports, and technology. The tablets come equipped with virtual classes, study tool apps, and a protection filter for other child-safe content.

Unto is partnering with European Cru teams to collect and distribute humanitarian aid, such as food, water, clothing, and other critical supplies, to refugees fleeing Ukraine into neighboring countries such as Romania, Poland, and Moldova. Unto, a ministry of Cru, says it provided nearly 438,000 people worldwide with basic care—clothing, blankets, eyeglasses, wheelchairs, medical supplies, and more—last year.
