MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT: Ankerberg Theological Research Institute

Avatar photo

Ankerberg Theological Research Institute incorporated in 1982, in the State of Tennessee, as a weekly half-hour nationwide television program, “The John Ankerberg Show,” by Dr. Ankerberg as host, to appeal to a thinking audience of Christians and non-Christians, to demonstrate that Christianity is true so that viewers will embrace it for themselves and learn to share it effectively with others.

The formats for this apologetics ministry are informal debates between representatives of differing belief systems, and documentary styled presentations on major issues in society, with reasoned arguments why the historic Christian faith is true.

Dr. Ankerberg holds degrees in Master of Arts in Church History and Philosophy of Christian Thought and Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary.  The ministry has grown to about 40 staff, and partners with Faith Comes by Hearing to provide the distribution of audio Bibles around the world.

The ministry has a catalog of topical videos from its show on its website, such as multiple programs on Apologetics, Bible, Christian Living, Prophecy, Resurrection, Salvation, Science, and the Trinity.  Besides using its own ministry website, The John Ankerberg Show can be seen or heard on YouTube, AppleTV, Roku, Spotify, Castro, Pocket Casts, Apple Podcasts, Overcast, and RSS Feed.  For those wanting to go deeper on topics, the ministry provides featured books and resources on current topics and has begun a Discipleship courses and program through its website and Ankerberg App.  The aim of the Ankerberg Theological Research Institute is to defend the Christian faith, to encourage the believer, and to provide reasons to non-Christians to accept and embrace Christianity as true and in turn share it with others.
