A Zimbabwean pastor and theologian serving with CURE International, a hospital for children with disabilities, is working to shift the mindset about disabilities in the church by hosting “Theology of Disability” seminars to help local pastors create a welcoming space for people with disabilities. The seminar uses examples of Jesus’ ministry to dispel myths—for example, that people with disabilities have evil spirits—that are common even among Christians. CURE International has 2 stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 80.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes has named four new executive vice president hires: Hannah Kao, Silas Mullis, Jeff Sutherland and Ken Williams. The hires were announced as the organization celebrates 10 years of international ministry. FCA has 4 stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 90.

Prison Fellowship International (PFI) and Eastern European Mission (EEM) are partnering to give out more than 100,000 Bibles and Christian resources to seven PFI affiliates across Eastern Europe. The 71,000 adult, 8,500 teen, and 34,500 child-friendly Bibles will be given to prisoners and their families over the next few years. EEM has low scores in the MinistryWatch database with 0 stars, a “C” transparency grade and a donor confidence score of 33. PFI, however, has 2 stars, an “A” transparency grade, and a donor confidence score of 80.

The Park Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma, hosted a “MobilePack” earlier this month. With the help of about 800 volunteers, they worked to put together 180,000 “MannaPacks” from Feed My Starving Children—filled with rice, textured soy, and dehydrated vegetables—to be distributed by Convoy of Hope and Buckner International. The bags, which each feed six people, will go to impoverished families in Burkina Faso and Guatemala. In the MinistryWatch database, Feed My Starving Children has 3 stars, a “C” transparency grade, and a donor confidence score of 69. Convoy of Hope has 4 stars, an “A” transparency grade, and a donor confidence score of 74. Buckner International has 2 stars, an “A” transparency grade, and a donor confidence score of 52.
