A Child’s Hope Intl, American Heritage Girls, Adult & Teen Challenge, DOOR Intl

This month, A Child’s Hope International (ACHI) hosted its first “public pack” of 2024. More than 300 volunteers showed up to pack 99,256 meals that will be sent to families in Eswatini. In 2023, ACHI reached vulnerable children in 12 countries, including the United States, serving more than 3 million meals and providing more than 5 million gallons of clean water. ACHI earned a MinistryWatch Shining Light Award in 2023, with five stars, an “A” transparency grade, and a donor confidence score of 100.

In 2023, nearly 4,500 girl members with American Heritage Girls packed 16,000 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. One of the AHG troops in Arizona won the organization’s OCC Shoebox Challenge drawing. The troop will select one member to represent the group who will, along with a parent/guardian, travel on a special trip curated by the OCC team at Samaritan’s Purse. AHG has four stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 87.

In November 2023, Faith Community Church of the Nazarene launched a Native American ministry in its hometown of Poteau, Oklahoma, where the Native American population constitutes the second largest demographic. The ministry will include monthly worship services, cultural events, Choctaw hymn lessons, and a missions trip to a reservation.

Adult & Teen Challenge has launched its new Military Specialization Program, a 30-day faith-based residential recovery program for active-duty service members struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. It also has a 16-week residential recovery program for veterans. The new program is part of ATC’s Harvest 2025 initiative, focused on creating specialized Christ-centered programs for people in different life situations who are struggling with addiction. ATC has one star and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 71.

DOOR International is celebrating 40 years of ministry among the deaf community. DOOR has three stars and a “C” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 72.
