30 Largest Christian Advocacy Organizations

Avatar photo

Below is a list of the 30 largest Christian advocacy organizations in the United States.

The organizations on this list are those whose work is not primarily direct aid, but in advocacy, including those who work in the arena of public policy — including life, marriage, and religious liberty.

The total revenue of the advocacy organizations on our list is more than $800 million. In order to make this list, an organization needs about $4.4 million in revenue. Last year, the #30 organization on the list had $2.3 million. That means a few organizations fell off the list this year.  They are Advocates for Community Transformation, The Exodus Road, Frontline Response/Atlanta Dream Center, and Americans United for Life.

Organizations new to this list include: Faith and Freedom Coalition, Acton Institute for the Study of Religious Liberty, Atlas Free, and ZOE International.

This list should not be interpreted as a list of recommended ministries.  They are ranked by revenue, and not by ministry effectiveness, financial efficiency, or any other measure.  That said, the Financial Efficiency rating, Transparency Grade, and Donor Confidence Score of each ministry is listed.

To learn more about these ministries, click on the ministry’s name and read the complete MinistryWatch profile on this organization.

We should note that the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) is not a Christian organization, but it advertises heavily in Christian media and has thousands of evangelical Christian donors, so it is included on this list so as to provide transparency into its operations.  To read more about IFCJ, click here.
