The Youth For Christ USA national board of trustees has named Jacob Bland the ministry’s 10th president and CEO.

A 23-year veteran of the youth evangelism and missionary organization, Bland is currently chief of staff to CEO Daniel S. Wolgemuth, who recently announced his retirement as YFC president and CEO after 16 years.

The transition will take place June 1.

“There are 11- to 19-year-olds who are facing crises like never before. I believe God has uniquely positioned YFC to help uncover God’s story of hope in the next generation,” Bland said. “The Gospel of Christ is as powerful and as effective as ever. Kids need to know that the God of the universe loves them, that He Cares for them, and that He wants to offer them eternal and abundant life through His son Jesus.”

Bland first became involved with the Englewood, Colorado-based group as a high school student and rose through the ranks, serving the organization’s Peoria, Illinois, chapter from 2003 to 2010 as a ministry site director while teaching at Bradley University. He holds a master’s degree in Youth Ministry Leadership from Huntington University.

He and his family live in the Denver area and attend Lighthouse Church, where Bland serves as an elder. He also is the board chairman for Presence Point, a non-profit organization.

The group said its board of trustees unanimously selected Bland from among 230 applicants and eight candidates, “based on his exemplary background within the ministry.”
