On This Date: Former Leaders Associated With Sean Feucht Call out ‘Longstanding Failures’

ONE YEAR AGO: On June 2, 2025, MinistryWatch reported that five former leaders of groups associated with Sean Feucht issued a formal statement bringing to light what they called “longstanding and serious moral, ethical, financial, organizational and governance failures” by Feucht. They also called for an independent investigation into possible fraud and embezzlement. Read more here. 
TWO YEARS AGO: On June 7, 2024, MinistryWatch reported that Orange, a large Christian children’s ministry, had “taken all appropriate steps including starting a third-party, trauma-informed, and forensic investigation” after its founder Reggie Joiner and CEO Kristen Ivy resigned following allegations of misconduct. FOUR YEARS AGO: On June 9, 2022, MinistryWatch reported that three activists with a Texas pro-abortion group interrupted a Sunday service at Joel Osteen’s Houston megachurch by stripping to their underwear and shouting “my body, my choice,” “Overturn Roe, Hell no,” and other epithet-laced slogans. SIX YEARS AGO: On June 9, 2020, MinistryWatch reported that Liberty University president Jerry Falwell Jr. apologized for tweeting an offensive, racially insensitive image. Black alumni in a letter called for Falwell to change his behavior or step down as Liberty president, saying he had “repeatedly violated and misrepresented” Christian principles. The letter said they would stop donating to the school and discourage minorities from enrolling. Read more here.
