Summary:  Mercy Corps (MC) began in 1979 to alleviate suffering, poverty, and oppression by helping people build secure, productive, and just communities around the globe.  It is a global organization, with Mercy Corps as the headquarters of an international family of humanitarian organizations.  Mercy Corps aims to help people survive and get back on their feet when natural disaster strikes, economies collapse, or conflict erupts.
