Disaster response in the Philippines, discipling veterans, sex trafficking prevention and recovery, and education for refugees

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is providing aid in the Philippines after a severe tropical storm devastated the area in October, killing more than 150 people and destroying millions of dollars in agricultural products and infrastructure. Teams working with local churches have so far distributed food packs to 350 families. NCM has five stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 92.

This month, Shared Hope International released its annual Report Cards on Child & Youth Sex Trafficking. The report cards grade each state under an advanced legislative framework, providing a comprehensive analysis and assessment of all state statutes related to and impacting child and youth sex trafficking in all 50 states and D.C. Shared Hope has been releasing its report cards since 2011. Shared Hope has two stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 100.

Warriors Set Free, a division of Set Free Ministries, a year ago opened a branch in Atlanta, Georgia—a state that ranks 10th nationwide for having the most active-duty personnel. The discipleship ministry has so far partnered with Veterans Empowerment Organizations, Ranger Outreach Center, Warrior Alliance, VETLANTA, and others.

Triumphant Mercy Lebanon operates four learning centers in Lebanon, helping 500 kids, many of whom are refugee children. Recently, the strain on the area’s public schools has resulted in more local Lebanese children turning to the learning centers. Triumphant Mercy also provides aid, vocational training, and spiritual support.
