The largest group on the list, while not specifically Christian, draws many Christian donors.

This article was updated on 6/5/2025 to include additional information about the National Center on Sexual Exploitation.

Below is a list of the 30 largest Christian advocacy organizations in the United States.

The organizations on this list are those whose primary work is in advocacy, not direct aid. This includes the arena of public policy, which may focus on life, marriage, and religious liberty.

The total revenue of the advocacy organizations on our list is more than $945 million. The smallest group on this list had $4.3 million while the largest had $271 million in revenue. Groups that are new to the Top 30 list include National Religious Broadcasters, Christian Alliance for Orphans, and The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE).

Those ministries designated with an asterisk do not file a Form 990 with the Internal Revenue Service, so their revenue number was taken from either their profile with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability or other published financials.

MinistryWatch recently created a category for anti-trafficking. Some groups that were formerly on this list are now part of that category, including ZOE International, Rapha International, The A21 Campaign, Our Rescue (formerly Operation Underground Railroad), and Atlas Free.

While the top five largest groups remained the same as last year, there was movement in the top 10. Two legal groups moved up several rankings: the American Center for Law and Justice moved from 10th last year to 6th this year, and First Liberty Institute moved from 12th to 8th. The Family Research Council also moved from 13th place last year to 9th place this year.

Global Christian Relief moved down the list five spots, from 6th to 11th place. Giving Children Hope moved from 8th to 20th on the list.

This list should not be interpreted as a list of recommended ministries. They are ranked by revenue, and not by ministry effectiveness, financial efficiency, or any other measure.  That said, the Financial Efficiency rating, Transparency Grade, and Donor Confidence Score of each ministry is listed.

A few ministries on the list have a donor confidence score exceeding 90: Safe Families for Children, Kingdom Advisors, Christian Alliance for Orphans, and National Religious Broadcasters.

To learn more about these ministries, click on the ministry’s name and read its complete MinistryWatch profile.

We should note that the largest group on the list — International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) — is not a Christian organization. However, it advertises heavily in Christian media and has thousands of evangelical Christian donors, so it is included on this list so as to provide transparency into its operations.  To read more about IFCJ, click here.

Additionally, the National Center on Sexual Exploitation is not a faith-based organization, but “is founded on values of human dignity, and regularly works with broad coalitions including religious communities,” according to Kelly Oliver, spokeperson for NCOSE.
