50 Largest Bible Translation and Foreign Missions Organizations in the US

Wycliffe Bible Translators again tops list; SIL, World Ventures, Mission of Hope Haiti make big moves

Below is a list of the largest foreign missions and Bible translation organizations in the country.  In addition to the name and revenue, you will also find MinistryWatch’s Financial Efficiency Rating (1 to 5, with 5 being the highest), and the organization’s Transparency Grade and Donor Confidence Score.  You can find more information about the ministries by clicking the ministry’s name.  That will take you directly to the ministry’s profile in the MinistryWatch 1000 database.

We have not included missions organizations associated with denominations. In most cases, these organizations do not release a Form 990 and are therefore difficult to compare to the organizations on this list. If you have questions about your own denominations missions organization, you can and should be able to get financial information from your denomination.

• The ministries with the biggest movers on this year’s list include SIL (up from 12 to 8), WorldVenture (20 to 16), Mission of Hope Haiti (24 to 17), International Cooperating Ministries (27 to 20), Greater Europe Mission (30 to 21), Serge (31 to 25), Pioneer Bible Translators (36 to 29), E3 Partners (46 to 35), The Luke Commission (NR to 32), Mission Eurasia (NR to 39), One Collective (50 to 43). 

A Word About Timing.  This information comes from the most recent Form 990 available. The Internal Revenue Service has been in the news for the past few years for its slow processing of Form 990s. (You can read our story on this subject here.) For most ministries on this list, the most recent year available was 2022 or 2023.
