Changes to the ECFA Database, and Dr. David Dockery on This Week’s Podcast

On Today’s MinistryWatch Podcast.  Each week, MinistryWatch brings you news about Christian ministries, as well as the latest in charity and philanthropy, news that we examine from a Christian worldview perspective.  Our goal is to help us become better stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us.  On today’s program, a pastor in the popular Hillsong movement has been fired for an unspecified “moral failure.”  We’ll have details.  Compassion International reaches a financial milestone.   We have the latest installment in our Generous Living series, the story of a young couple whose financial stewardship has motivated generosity in others.  Also on this week’s program: massive staff cuts at ChicagoLand’s Willow Creek Church.  You can hear the podcast on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, and other podcast apps, or you can simply click here.

MinistryWatch Extra with Dr. David Dockery.  On this week’s MinistryWatch Extra podcast, I discuss “The State of Christian Higher Education” with one of the elder statesmen of that movement, Dr. David Dockery.  It is likely that Christian education in this country would look significantly different were it not for the life and work of David Dockery.  He has served as president of Trinity International University, in the Chicago area, and as president of Union University, during a time when Union faced a significant crisis – which we’ll talk about later in the program.  Union University emerged from that crisis as one of the nation’s leading Christian colleges.  Dockery has also used his gifts to serve Christian education beyond the colleges he has led directly.  He has consulted or served on the board of many important Christian institutions, including Christianity Today and The Colson Center for Christian Worldview.  He has also been active in The Council of Christian Colleges and Universities, where he served as chairman of the board, and the Evangelical Theological Society, which he served as its president.  You can hear that conversation here.
