Ministry Spotlight: ICU Mobile

Avatar photo

National pro-life ministry ICU Mobile saw a decline in its MinistryWatch rating from four stars to three stars.

The drop in ratings is due to an increase in the organization’s fundraising efforts. From 2018 to 2022, fundraising expenses jumped from $88,000 to $243,000.

ICU Mobile ranks 15 out of 30 in overall financial efficiency among its pro-life peers. It spent 13% of its total expenses on fundraising in 2022.

It had a deficit of more than $260,000 in 2022. The organization’s total revenue was $1.9 million, while its total expenses (program services, management and general, and fundraising) was $2.1 million.

ICU Mobile—which stands for Image Clear Ultrasound—began in 2004 and is based in Akron, Ohio. This ministry partners with pregnancy resource centers to help them fundraise for a mobile medical unit, as well as coaching and consulting on how to run a mobile medical ministry. These mobile units allow pregnancy centers an extra avenue for reaching women in their communities facing unplanned pregnancies by providing free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds.  ICU Mobile supports over 42 mobile units operating across the United States.
