MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT: Association of Christian Schools International

Summary: The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) began in 1978 to strengthen Christian schools and equip Christian educators through its member services. ACSI services include accreditation and teacher certification, various student activities, tracking, analysis and communicating legal and legislative issues, career teacher placement, membership directory and research and leadership training.

ACSI also produces biblically integrated textbooks and other educational resources, and provides training and support for that material. In addition, it provides professional development to Christian school leaders and educators using live events and an online platform, an annual celebratory learning experience that brings together a wide spectrum of Christian educators with the goal to transform their approach to teaching.

As part of its premium services, ACSI provides on-demand professional development for Christian educators. Preschools, elementary, middle or junior high schools, high schools and colleges pay dues to become members of ACSI, subscribing to its Statement of Faith. Members are granted voting rights that are generally based on the number of school administrators.

ACSI has three related tax-exempt organizations: 1) ACSI Capital Corporation (to provide financing activities), 2) ACSI Education Foundation (supporting the work of ACSI), and 3) ACSI Children Education Fund Inc. (providing scholarship grants).
