Trail Life launches 1,000th troop, support for foster families, and college students helping with disaster relief

Trail Life U.S.A. is celebrating the launch of its 1000th troop. Trail Life was formed as an unapologetically Christian alternative to the Boy Scouts just 10 years ago with a focus on adventure, mentorship, and discipleship for boys within the context of a Christian worldview. Trail Life has one star and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database.

The Ruth Project in Illinois continues to grow in its mission to support foster families. With over 700 volunteers from churches, businesses, and other local-area communities, The Ruth Project is providing needed items such as clothes, toys, and furniture free of cost for 150-plus families through its storehouse, and has distributed over 800 “Dash and Dine” meals so far this year. It is also welcoming foster families to its recently launched 33-acre Farm, where it hosts events and provides other long-term support.

AMG International provides practical and educational care to children in 11 countries, including Guatemala, through their child sponsorship program. It also operates 37 schools with 8,500 students. AMG International has one star and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 96.

Students from Harding University in Arkansas took a break from preparing for final exams by volunteering in nearby Wynne and Little Rock, where tornadoes swept through in late March and early April. They helped clear downed trees and other debris. Harding University has three stars and a “C” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 59 (“Give With Caution”).

One of Heart of Mercy Mission’s ministry partners in the Ukraine traveled two days with a rescue team to provide meals, medicine, and other goods to more than 1,400 refugees. Heart of Mercy Mission is the humanitarian arm of the Christian Women in Media Association. It helps women in cultures where suffering and oppression are common.
