Disaster relief in Kentucky, youth summer camps, Sewing for the Master, feeding vulnerable Ukrainians, supporting migrant children in Mexico

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) has partnered with four Nazarene churches inside Ukraine to collect goods, assemble them, and distribute food packages that will feed 1,000 families each month for the next six months. NCM has five stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 90.

Convoy of Hope is partnering with Assembly of God churches in eastern Kentucky to distribute more than 300,000 pounds of relief supplies to victims of storms that caused severe flooding in the area in late July. Flooding remains a threat. Convoy of Hope has four stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 75. 

Sewing for the Master enlisted the help of students in Kansas taking part in The Bible Camp’s day camps to make 225 dresses, pants, shorts, and shirts. The clothing was sent with Hope for Haiti’s Children. The summer camp and sewing ministry have also sent clothes and other items to Mexico, Tanzania, Zambia, and Poland. 

Youth For Christ has expanded the focus and services of its summer camps to include more concentrated time with leaders, more follow up after camp, more partnerships with trained trauma counselors for youth in crisis, and camps in more communities. Youth For Christ USA has three stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 90. 

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) has shifted its focus in Mexico from training churches to reach local people in their homes to supporting children of migrant families traveling through the area in caravans. Trained workers share the gospel, treat travel-related wounds, provide clean socks, and feed the children. CEF has two stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 95.
