Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, Open Door Mission, Keys for Kids, Heart for Lebanon
The Philippines branch of Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) alongside the Nazarene Disaster Response team provided aid to 400 families affected by severe flooding that swept through Eastern Mindanao in early February. Storms that caused the flooding prompted two landslides that killed more than 80 people. NCM sent crisis care kits, relief goods, and unique offerings from local churches. A Nebraska women’s church group and friends put together more than 250 Easter Care Kits (pictured) for homeless men and women seeking help at Open Door Mission. The kits, which will be handed out over Easter weekend, include a chocolate bunny and cross, body wash, razors, deodorant, and shampoo. The mission provides a variety of care options to locals struggling with poverty, including free meals, safe shelter, a health clinic, and homeless prevention resources. Keys for Kids is preparing to launch their audio products in Mandarin for children in China and other Mandarin hotspots around the world. Audio resources will include elementary and teen devotionals, and the teams are working on faith-based audio dramas. Teams with Heart for Lebanon are sharing the gospel and engaging disciples in Lebanon by doing about 30 house calls a day, hosting Bible studies, and providing humanitarian aid.
