Langham Partnership Announces New President
Current president Ben Homan will finish out 2024 before retiring
Langham Partnership USA announced last week that it has selected Carl Moeller as its new president. Moeller will take the reins starting in January 2025, following the retirement of current president Ben Homan, who has led the ministry for 14 years.
Moeller comes to Langham with decades of ministry experience, which the board says positions him to continue the vision of founder John Stott to raise the standard of Biblical preaching around the world.
“[Moeller] will bring an extraordinary range of experience in international Christian work and a servant’s heart,” said Board Chair Joel Carpenter. “We are grateful for his eagerness to join our team.”
Moeller began working with the global church during the 1980s in Communist Eastern Europe. Later, he earned a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a doctorate from the University of Utah. He is an ordained minister and has pastored in the Evangelical Free Church of America.
In 2003, Moeller was appointed president and CEO of Open Doors International, a nonprofit that engages with the persecuted church around the world by providing Bibles, Christian literature, and Biblical training.
Since then, Moeller has worked as CEO of Biblica and other nonprofits. For the past four years, Moeller has led The Joshua Fund, which supports ministries in Israel and the Middle East.
To facilitate a smooth transition, Moeller will begin serving as president-elect in September 2024 until Homan has finished out the year.
“I am thrilled to embark on this journey,” Moeller said. “I look forward to witnessing the extraordinary ways in which God will work through us in the days ahead. I am honored to follow the outstanding leadership of Ben Homan and the legacy of John Stott. Together with the global team, we will embrace the future by God’s grace.”
Langham Partnership has 1 star and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 73.
