Former Christian School Teacher to Serve Decades in State Prison for Child Sex Abuse
A former teacher at a private religious school near Philadelphia who became the pastor of a Baptist church in Shickshinny, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 20 to 40 years in state prison for sexually abusing a child in 2007 and 2008.
Randy Boston, 65, was found guilty in September of abusing a 1st-grade boy while he was a 5th grade teacher at the West Chester Christian School, a school affiliated with the Bible Baptist Church of West Chester, a Philadelphia suburb. He was sentenced Jan. 11.
Boston was a teacher at West Chester Christian from 1979 to 2008, according to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office. Shickshinny, where he was pastoring when he was arrested in 2021, is about two hours northwest of Philadelphia.
The victim, now an adult, told police he had been forced by Boston to perform sex acts when he was in first grade. Charges against Boston included indecent assault, corruption of a minor and deviate sexual intercourse with a child.
The victim said he was alone with Boston downstairs at the school to be disciplined for sticking his tongue out at another student when Boston told him to remove his belt and pull down his pants. He said that Boston performed oral sex on him and made him perform oral sex on Boston as many as three times, although he only clearly remembers one event.
A criminal complaint said Boston at first denied the allegations but later admitted he found elementary school children attractive, “especially their buttocks.” The affidavit said Boston had “been attracted to (little boys) in the past, and still struggled with desire towards them.”
