Ep. 177: Christian Schools in Ukraine, Lysa TerKeurst, Eric Metaxas, Jacksonville’s Celebration Church
On today’s program, a pastor in Georgia pleads guilty to fraud after receiving COVID relief funds. And the Colorado Springs-based Association of Christian Schools International, ACSI, is proving that the word INTERNATIONAL in its name is true by coming to the aid of member schools in Ukraine. We begin today with updates on a couple of court cases involving Christian celebrities. We’ll hear about Eric Metaxas in a moment. We get started today with Lysa Terkeurst.
A Few Housekeeping Notes:
Some of our listeners probably know that a movie about the PTL scandal involving Jim and Tammy Bakker won a couple of Oscars at Sunday nights Academy Awards ceremony. Those wins have renewed interest in the movie, a movie that I found to be pretty mediocre. We’ve posted a review of the movie that was originally written last year, when the movie came out, that articulates some of the movie’s limitations, including problems with its historical accuracy. I encourage you to check it out.
I also want to mention that there’s a new way to give to MinistryWatch. You can now give via text. I’ve got to admit that this is not my preferred way of giving, but I’m kind of old school. If this is your preferred way of giving, just text @ministrywatch to 52014. Again, that’s @ministrywatch to 52014. I tried it myself, and it was pretty easy. So if I can do it, anyone can.
Also: If you have a story you’d like us to cover, or a ministry that you think needs a closer look, please email us. Our email is [email protected]. That will come directly to my desk, and we’ll take it from there.
Finally, a reminder that you can help the program by leaving us a rating on your podcast app. The more ratings we get, the easier it is for others to find us. It’s a quick, easy, and free way you can support MinistryWatch.
