Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) announced this week that it will move its headquarters to the Dallas/Fort Worth area from San Antonio, where it has been located since 1980.

The precise location within the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area has not yet been determined, BSF executive director Hollie Roberts said in a press statement.

Roberts said that Dallas-Fort Worth has a “thriving BSF community” and offers “global accessibility, diverse community, and an opportunity to better collaborate with many like-minded ministry partners,” making it the “right location for the next season.”

Before locating its headquarters in San Antonio on land donated to the ministry, BSF was based in Oakland, California.

Roberts expressed gratitude for BSF’s “season of ministry” in San Antonio, but said she is “confident that God is leading us to move once again, this time as a means to maximize accessibility to our global audience.”

BSF is an interdenominational bible study ministry founded in 1949 that has grown to more than 400,000 class members in 120 nations on six continents. It includes both online and in-person meetings of men, women, young adults, students, and children.

In the MinistryWatch database, BSF has an A transparency grade, the highest five-star financial efficiency rating, and a donor confidence score of 84 out of 100. In 2019, it received the Shining Light award.

According to the most recent Form 990 from 2022, BSF operated at about a $4 million deficit, with $26.5 million in revenue and $30.5 million in expenses.

BSF’s primary source of revenue is contributions from individual donors and those attending its classes around the world; however, BSF maintains that it does not charge class members for participating.
