Tennessee Evangelical Pastor, Trump Supporter Jeff Jansen Dies

Evangelical Pastor Jeff Jansen, who as recently as May 2021 was still claiming he thought God would take action to reinstall Donald Trump as president, has died unexpectedly. Global Fire Ministries and Global Fire Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, which Jansen formerly co-led with his wife, posted the news on its website.

“Over the years, Jeff has left an indelible mark on those who knew him. Please pray for his family as they remember him and grieve this tremendous loss,” the post said.

No cause of death was given.

Jansen and his wife Jan were married for more than 25 years and had eight children and 18 grandchildren. Jansen was asked to step down from Global Fire Ministries and Global Fire Church in May 2021 because of what the church called “unscriptural and unbiblical behavior,” saying he had made an “intentional” decision to leave his wife and family and “pursue his own desires.”

The church said at the time that Jansen had made “poor moral choices” while ministering at home and on the road and had character flaws that disqualified him from leadership, and that although he had been confronted about the flaws “numerous times over a period of time” he declined to “submit to the process of healing and restoration.”

Jansen supported Donald Trump’s re-election and continued to contend that Trump was the true winner of the 2020 presidential race. He also authored a book titled “Trump: The Destiny of God’s America.”

In a video posted on Facebook May 4, Jansen said, “What’s coming can’t be stopped. There’s all kinds of amazing things that are happening, and I’m talking about President Trump. I’m talking about him coming back into power…I’m talking about everything that God promised, back-to-back terms.”

Visitation is set for Monday, Aug. 15th and the funeral service will be on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at the Springhouse Worship & Arts Center in Smyrna, Tennessee. Crowdfunding efforts have been set up to help pay for the services and to support Jansen’s wife and younger children.
