On a cold, gray January morning, the field hospital Samaritan’s Purse erected on the asphalt parking lot in the rear of the city’s hospital was ready to do battle with COVID-19.
Seven months after closing its COVID-19 field hospital in New York City’s Central Park, Samaritan’s Purse is opening another one to treat overflow patients suffering from the coronavirus in western North Carolina.
