Popular Christian Authors Arrested for Alleged Abuse
Heather Thompson Day and Seth Day are co-authors of a best-selling Christian book on relationships.
(RNS) — A popular Christian author and speaker and her professor husband were arrested Thursday (Sept. 24) and charged with assault.
Heather Thompson Day, 39, and her husband, Seth Day, co-authors of “I’ll See You Tomorrow,” a book on relationships, were both charged with causing “injury to a child, elderly or disabled individual with intent to cause bodily injury,” according to reports from Spectrum magazine and AdventistToday.org, both Seventh-day Adventist publications.

Seth Day, a 39-year-old psychology professor at Southwestern Adventist University, was also charged on Friday (Sept. 25) with sexual assault of a child, according to an arrest report from the Keene Police Department in Keene, Texas.
Both were jailed in Johnson County, Texas, and were released on bail. Jail records posted online by AdventistToday show that both of the Days had a $100,000 bond set for the injury charge. Seth Day had a $250,00 bond set for the sexual assault charge.
“Southwestern Adventist University has been informed that Seth Day, a faculty member of our school, was taken into custody,” the university said in a statement posted on social media. “Mr. Day has been placed on administrative leave.”
The Jackson County District Attorney’s office declined to comment about the case, citing an ongoing investigation.
Heather Thompson Day did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

The Days, who live in Keene, were formerly professors at Andrews University, a prominent Seventh-Day Adventist college in Michigan. Heather Thompson Day is the author of 10 books, including her children’s book, “Can I Sit Here? A Story about Feeling Lonely, Being Brave, and Making Friends,” co-written with her daughter. She also has a weekly email devotional with 10,000 subscribers.
Heather Day has been a contributor to Christianity Today as well as the host of their podcast “Viral Jesus.” She has also been featured in Religion New Service, the Barna Group, and Newsweek.
“Heather believes she is on this earth to help one person, try one more time, to take one more step for one more day,” her website states.
