Crossroads Church has nine campuses spanning Ohio and Kentucky. The Dayton-area campus is currently housed in a temporary location at Bellbrook Middle School, which seats about 600 people for worship.

The church’s growth prompted leaders to search for a new, permanent campus option with more space. The church purchased a building in the Dayton Mall formerly occupied by a Sears department store.

It is currently undergoing renovations to suit the church’s needs. Once complete, the building will house more than 1,600 seats in its worship space, a balcony and 20 kids club rooms which will also double as preschool rooms during the week. The church’s all-in financial investment between purchasing the property and renovations will be around $21 million.

The 167,000-square-foot facility will also feature an atrium, free coffee, Wi-Fi and coworking space for community members to use throughout the week.

“We plan on being a permanent staple in the community, and we want our space to reflect not only who God is and who Crossroads is but be able to serve the needs of the community as best as possible,” says Matt Castleman, the Dayton campus’ community pastor. “We run to where people are and we are interested in reaching people that currently aren’t being reached by any other church.”

Crossroads is an interdenominational Christian church and “believes God has designed Crossroads to be a ‘Spiritual Outfitter’ who inspires, equips, and guides people who want to explore faith and go on an adventure.”

The church began renovations on the Dayton Mall facility in 2023 and is eyeing a completion date in early 2025.
