MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT: Hope is Alive Ministries

Avatar photo

Hope is Alive Ministries (HIA) began in 2012 to provide mentoring homes for individuals struggling with addiction who are transitioning back into the real world from treatment centers, correctional facilities, and poor life choices.

HIA has 25 homes across 12 cities with programs that last 12-18 months long, with separate homes for men and women. Residents journey through a three-phase program aimed at building a strong foundation of life skills and recovery. At completion of the three phases, residents will have accomplished more than 60 requirements, giving them confidence to reach goals and finish what they start.

The Hope is Alive program is led by Hope is Alive graduates.

The program also helps with job placement, which is required within the first three weeks, in addition to monthly service opportunities, and legal assistance. Residents are required to be actively involved in a local church and participate in Monday night Bible studies.

In addition, HIA provides support groups for loved ones of addicts, called “Finding Hope,” and groups for loved ones who have lost someone due to addiction called, “Hope After Loss.” Attendees learn more about addiction, find tools to help those they love, and discover hope to help themselves as they journey the road to recovery.

HIA has an 85% success rate for all graduates. More than 700 children have been reunited with sober parents.

The aim of Hope is Alive Ministries is to restore and radically change the lives of drug addicts, alcoholics, and those who love them.
