Ministry Spotlight: Daily Audio Bible

Educational Media ministry loses a star in financial efficiency

Avatar photo

Daily Audio Bible, a digital Bible resource, recently dropped in financial efficiency, landing low in its ministry sector. A 1-Star asset utilization rating and limited financial data impacted its financial transparency and overall score.

The Daily Audio Bible brings a Bible-in-a-year study to Christians around the globe. Offered through both an app and a web player, Daily Audio is “the Bible. Read fresh daily. Among friends.” The Daily Audio team says there are three things Christians can’t live without on Earth: “The Bible, a conversational intimacy with Jesus and COMMUNITY.”

The Daily Audio Bible website features a prayer wall where registered listeners can send and receive prayers in various forums. Daily Audio celebrated its 20th anniversary last February.

Without membership in the ECFA, Daily Audio is not required to have an audited financial statement. However, without membership or audited financials, MinistryWatch assigns a D for Daily Audio’s transparency grade. The MinistryWatch transparency grade evaluates the ease with which donors can see into a ministry’s finances.

Looking at a breakdown of its financial efficiency rating, Daily Audio is only rated 1 Star in asset utilization due to a jump in cash reserves, from $4,892,291 in 2023 to $6,061,614 in 2024—that’s almost two times its annual revenue.

Daily Audio maintains a low fundraising expense ratio, only 2% in 2024, compared to the sector median of 6%. Paired with high expenses in program services ($1,758,959 in 2024, and $2,192,994 overall) and relatively low revenue ($3,354,807 in 2024), Daily Audio dropped in financial efficiency compared with other ministries in its sector.

This data leaves Daily Audio in only the top 60% for financial efficiency in the Educational Media sector.

MinistryWatch made multiple attempts to contact Daily Audio Bible. It did not respond.

Daily Audio Bible has a D Transparency Grade—it files a Form 990, but is not a member with the ECFA nor does it post audited financial statements on its website.
