MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT: Christian Business Men’s Connection (CBMC)

Avatar photo

Christian Business Men’s Connection (CBMC) began as a volunteer spiritual prayer movement among Christian businessmen seeking spiritual revival in 1930 during the Great Depression. It was later incorporated as a nonprofit and recognized by the IRS as a Public Charity in 1976.

CBMC is a relational one-on-one discipleship ministry, connecting business and professional men to God and each other through Christian peer groups and individual connections. Men pray for each other and encourage and equip each other to do the same for others.

CBMC guides men to engage the Christian worldview in their families, work and communities.

CBMC claims they have experienced unprecedented growth in 2023, saying they have had more than 45,000 participants in 97 countries.  The ministry employes 114 individuals in the following breakdown as of 2022 allocated program expenses:

  1. 82% spent on Field Ministries: Activities including relationship building, one-on-one discipleship, leading various types of teams, and potentially supporting a leader in a geographical area. Men interested in participating can search the CBMC website for local groups.
  2. 14% spent on Peer Advisory Groups: Faith-based discussion groups for business peers with similar business responsibilities. CBMC organizes four types of groups: Executive Round Tables, Trusted Advisors, Forums, and Young Professionals.
  3. 4% spent on Outreach and Conference Events: Monthly and seasonal events organized all over the country to further connect Christian businessmen to each other and other men.  This also includes monthly luncheons, prayer breakfast and regional conferences.

The aim of CBMC is to expand its network so it can share Christ with business and professional men and equip them to carry out the Great Commission.
