The Ministry Watch DCS is based on the score tallied from a number of questions meant to address the overall financial health and oversight of an organization. One of these is a requirement that a ministry’s board have between five and 11 members, and no more than two non-independent members.

At Aglow International, based in Edmonds, Washington, all eight of its board members work for the ministry. The CEO of the organization, Jane Hansen Hoyt, also sits on the board.

Another reason for the drop in its DCS is the organization stopped making its 990s public after petitioning the IRS to reclassify it as an “association of churches.” Because of this, Aglow’s transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database dropped to a D.

ECFA data on the organization shows that in 2022, Aglow’s total revenue was $3 million, its total expenses were $2.3 million, and its net assets were $912,130.

According to its website, “Aglow is an international organization of women and men in more than 170 nations of the world, presenting Biblical principles as solutions to the challenging issues of our time.”

It offers a number of different ministries, including prayer groups, missions trips, resources, and conferences.
