Ministry Events Across the Globe: Pathway Ministries’ Coat Drive, Heart for Lebanon's Relief Efforts, and More Ministry Highlights

Pathway Ministries in Illinois collected over 150 coats as part of its coat drive at this year’s Hope Rising event. More than 700 people attended, despite unfavorable weather, to eat food, worship together, hear stories from graduates of Pathway’s addiction recovery program, and give to the ministry’s efforts. Pathway Ministries, formerly known as Peoria Rescue Ministries, has 3 stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 100.

In October, a team with Heart for Lebanon visited a village in Southern Lebanon to distribute emergency aid packages to more than 300 families affected by the Israel-Hezbollah conflict.  Since the conflict erupted, more than 3,000 people across the Middle East have been killed in the crisis, according to Mission Network News. In Lebanon, it’s estimated that 1.2 million people are displaced. Heart for Lebanon has 4 stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 100.

Evangelist Dean Johnson is captivating audiences with his feats of strength before using his platform to share the gospel. With his Victory 4 Youth ministry, Johnson performs at school assemblies and prisons before sharing his testimony of coming to saving faith in Christ after a childhood struggling with gang violence and pain. According to Victory 4 Youth, over a million students have attended his team’s events.

On September 24, Armenian-Iranian Pastor Anooshavan Avedian was released from Tehran’s Evin Prison in response to a group of international ministries crying out for his release. He served one year of a 10-year sentence after Iranian authorities stormed a church service held in his house. He was later convicted of “establishing and leading an illegal group.”  International Christian Concern, Voice of the Martyrs, Open Doors, and Barnabas Aid had all raised concerns about his conviction and called for his release. International Christian Concern has 4 stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 97.

In a span of under two weeks, from September 30 through October 7, Nazarene Missions International of the Java-Bali District collected 2,183 new toothbrushes from local churches to give to the Kudjip Nazarene Hospital in Papua New Guinea. NMI works closely with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, which has 5 stars, an “A” transparency grade, and a donor confidence score of 100.
