Martyrs’ Widows’ Shop, soccer clubs, Miles for Missions, food pantry

Through the Church of the Nazarene’s project “Martyrs’ Widows’ Shop,” churches are providing for Christian women in Africa whose husbands have been martyred for their faith. Two such widows in Africa were provided with resources to open their own small grocery shops, including rent for the first three months.

The Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club—the North Carolina division of Missionary Athletes International—kicked off their summer block parties Friday, June 7 in three neighborhoods throughout the Charlotte area, offering food, fun and games to children and families. MIA also opened its new campus in Waxhaw, NC, for soccer camps and leagues. MIA has 4 stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 100.

Teams with New International raised almost $23,000 and covered 11,973 miles in prayer on May 25 for Miles for Missions day. New International has 5 stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 90.

St. Matthews House in Naples, Florida, reopened its food pantry in May after renovating and expanding it to provide more food and household items to families in need throughout Southwest Florida. St. Matthews House has 5 stars, an “A” transparency grade, and a donor confidence score of 90 in the MinistryWatch database.
