Members of the O’Fallon Assembly of God in O’Fallon, Illinois, dedicated a week to service outreach that focused on prayer, serving, and reaching. One of the service projects, called the “Mayor’s Project”—in which the town mayor assigns (at the church’s request) a project that wouldn’t otherwise get done—included cleaning up the property of an 81-year-old veteran. The church is already planning for next year’s event.

Earlier this month, volunteers with Elder Orphan Care in North Carolina packed over 400 Christmas “Totebags of Joy” and wrapped over 200 Wish List gifts for the elderly in Cabarrus and Rowan counties. The gifts will be distributed this week. Elder Orphan Care also works with the “orphaned” elderly in Romania.

Samaritan’s Purse has deployed two Disaster Relief Units—tractor trailers filled with tools and equipment—to two Tennessee locations after tornadoes ripped through Middle Tennessee on Dec. 9, killing six people. So far, more than 170 volunteers have served 30 families, hauling debris and helping with clean up efforts. Samaritan’s Purse has two stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 59.

Save the Storks in Colorado Springs, Colorado, recently celebrated the completion of its 100th mobile medical clinic with a Christmas worship concert on Sunday, Dec. 10. The national pro-life ministry invited attendees to tour the “Stork Bus” before deploying it to the Pregnancy Resource Center in Maryville, Tennessee. Save the Storks has two stars and an “A” transparency grade in the MinistryWatch database, and a donor confidence score of 87.
