Full House star and self-proclaimed “Queen of Christmas” Candace Cameron Bure has left the Hallmark Channel, where she starred in about 30 Christmas movies over 15 years, in favor of a new network featuring family-friendly series, original holiday movies, and seasonal rom-coms that “celebrate faith, family, and country.”

Bure has signed on to develop, produce, and star in movies and television for GAC Family and GAC Living.

She will oversee and curate programming for the networks and will develop and produce original content through her production company Candy Rock Entertainment, a joint venture with Redrock Entertainment. GAC said she also will play “a key role” in its Great American Christmas franchise.

Bure is a perennial holiday movie fan favorite, having starred in dozens of films created in close partnership with Bill Abbott when he was formerly CEO of Hallmark Channel parent company Crown Media Family Networks.

Abbott left Crown Media in January 2020 in the wake of backlash after he pulled an ad on Hallmark depicting a same-sex marriage. The network later backtracked and apologized. Abbott acquired GAC, formerly known as Great American Country, in June 2021.

Bure rose to fame as one of the child stars of “Full House” in the late 1980s and reprised her role of D.J. Tanner in the 2016 sequel, “Fuller House.” Reruns of both sitcoms currently air on GAC Family.

In addition to being an actress, producer, director, and author, Bure heads a skin care and cosmetics brand, a clothing line with QVC, and a lifestyle brand with DaySpring, a faith-resources company. She is also the “Chief Spiritual Officerof Woman’s Day magazine, writing about faith in each issue.

She starred in and executive produced the mystery movie franchise, “Aurora Teagarden,” competed on Dancing with the Stars, and co-hosted The View in 2015 and 2016.
