The foundation connected with a megachurch in Dallas, Texas, said an investigation by a forensic auditing firm has uncovered “improperly diverted” donations, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Park Cities Presbyterian Church Foundation reported an operating loss of nearly $800,000 in its 2020 tax filing despite having more than $1.2 million in revenue, per the News.

The foundation said an unidentified person who held unspecified leadership posts within the group is believed to be responsible. The foundation also did not specify how much money was involved.

The evangelical church is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America.

Church spokesman David Margulies told the News the results of the investigation will be “forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.”

Margulies said the foundation’s finances and operations are separate from those of the church, which was founded in 1991 and has around 5,500 members. He said the foundation’s board has stepped down while the investigation continues.
