Confident in the Leadership at Bob Jones University
We live in the Greenville, S.C., area and have weekly contact with teachers, students and administrators at Bob Jones University. As well, I am a 1969 graduate and have followed the school for many years.
We have a great respect for the school and are confident that those in charge are doing all to make decisions and proceed with discretion as unto the Lord. It is also well known that there is a group of godless ex-students, etc. who would seek to cause trouble and/or destroy the school.
So, beware of their antics, please. Hopefully, you have been informed that a counseling division or study has been developed, and I am sure they are trying to be very wise and informed as to how to best implement biblical principles, especially in the future days ahead.
We really appreciate your website! Thank you!

‘Bureaucratic Gaslighting’ Still a Part of UMC
As a retired UMC pastor and former United Methodist, let me correct two things.
The bishops not taking a pay raise is NOT belt-tightening. Taking a pay cut would be.
Your comment that there is now an increased workload because they went from 39 to 32 bishops disregards the fact that 25 percent of the UMC churches disaffiliated and an even larger percent of individual members left.
Apparently bureaucratic gaslighting is still part of the UMC tradition. Bah Humbug!
