Charlie Kirk could have been a Christian witness for decades to come

Thank you for the very well written article on Charlie Kirk. For such a young man, he had the potential to become an influential advocate for the Christian faith for years to come. It is so sad to see a great witness for conservative faith to be snuffed out so tragically.

I have seen a lot written about his earlier days, as his life and stance in life was forming and evolving. At 64, I am not the same person I was at age 18, either.

Kirk article honored Christ

Warren, I commend you on your essay regarding Charlie Kirk. It is, by far, the most insightful piece I’ve read. It honors Christ and Mr. Kirk. Thank you.

Kimmel case underscores need for free press

Thank you for your article on Kimmel and free speech, Warren.  I heartily agree.

When power is consolidated either in government or in the corporate world, the potential for abuse and injustice is great.  We absolutely need a free and engaged press that is not censored by anyone in order to hold our leaders and all with significant power accountable — regardless of who is in office.

Thanks for writing about this.

Protecting the First Amendment is paramount

Excellent essay by Warren Cole Smith on at this point what appears to be inappropriate pressure from Brendan Carr at the FCC to have Jimmy Kimmel taken off-air.

I concur with Mr. Smith in disagreeing with Mr. Kimmel’s views, but protecting the First Amendment as applied to TV and radio programming is paramount.

As I live in Texas, I noted Sen. Ted Cruz’s pushback on this issue and immediately sent him a thank-you message via his constituent portal.

Thank you,

Jim Yarbrough, via email
