Christian author and preacher Tim Keller shared encouraging news about his battle with pancreatic cancer with his Twitter followers last week and thanked them for their prayers.
The pastor emeritus of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, best-selling author, and theologian said he has been shifted to a less aggressive and less damaging type of chemotherapy after CT scans showed a “significant decrease” in the size and number of tumors.
“This is excellent news, so we are rejoicing that God has worked through your prayers and chemotherapy to accomplish so much,” he said.
Keller had announced in June that he was beginning treatment after doctors found the cancer by “providential intervention” despite his having no symptoms. He asked for prayers that God use medical means “or His direct intervention to make the cancer regress to the point of vanishing.”
He also is a survivor of thyroid cancer.
Since beginning treatment, Keller has undergone 14 rounds of chemotherapy. He said he has experienced only mild side effects, including neuropathy in his hands and feet.

In the more recent post, Keller wrote, “What the future holds I do not know, but we will continue to trust His plan and allow Him to shepherd us along his chosen path.”
