A Texas pastor who has been missing since August 2 has been found dead from a gunshot wound. Phillip Loveday, 47, was the pastor of Faith Christian Center in Greer, Texas. He also worked for the energy infrastructure company Kinder Morgan.
According to reports, Loveday left for his job with Kinder Morgan the morning of August 2 in his company truck, leaving his cell phone at home. He never arrived at work. Six days later, on August 8, a sheriff’s deputy found Loveday’s body inside the company truck near Corpus Christi, Texas.
Loveday’s wife, Melea, grew concerned after she received a call saying he had not arrived for work that morning or at Faith Christian Center that evening where he was scheduled to preach.
Loveday’s family told Texas TV station KRIS it was normal for him to leave his phone at home when he went to work. But he would still usually reach out to family members as the day went on.
When news of Loveday’s disappearance broke, his church started the Facebook page “Finding Phillip Loveday” to share information, post updates, and offer prayer and encouragement. It gained almost 8,000 Facebook followers in just five days.
According to KIII TV, Kleberg County Sheriff’s Deputy David Farias discovered Loveday’s body. Investigators say the pastor had been dead for some time. They do not suspect foul play.

Loveday was the sole provider for his family. Friends of the Loveday family started a GoFundMe page to help the family with expenses.
Loveday leaves behind his wife Melea, five children, and one grandchild.
