Membership with the ECFA holds ministries accountable to certain financial transparency standards, and MinistryWatch places substantial value on a ministry’s membership. In the MinistryWatch 1000 database, ministries are awarded 20 points on their Donor Confidence Scores if they are members of the ECFA.
YUGO, an inter-denominational mission organization, works to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through a ministry of evangelism and teaching in Mexico. Through local church partnership and dynamic fellowship programs, YUGO trains and disciples new believers and pastors around the country.
“YUGO” is the Spanish word for “yoke,” a reminder of the One who said “Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me” (Matthew 11:29).
Today, YUGO’s most visible ministry is the participation of over 2,700 North Americans (primarily teenagers) each year on evangelistic outreaches in Mexico. Earlier this month, two missions groups—St. Andrews By the Sea and CC Challenge Students—built four houses.

YUGO also does not post audited financial statements to its website, which docks its Donor Confidence Score by another two points.
MinistryWatch considers membership in the ECFA a “best practice” for Christian ministries, especially organizations with greater than $1 million in annual revenue. For that reason, ECFA membership impacts both a ministry’s Transparency Grade and its Donor Confidence Score.
YUGO’s Transparency Grade fell from an A to a D with these changes. Its Donor Confidence Score is still in the “Give With Confidence” designation, partly due to its 5-star Financial Efficiency Rating and adherence to other MinistryWatch criteria.
MinistryWatch made multiple attempts to contact YUGO Ministries. It did not respond.
YUGO Ministries has a D Transparency Grade—it files a Form 990, but does not post audited financial statements on its website or hold membership with the ECFA.
