Summary:
American Bible Society (ABS) began in 1816 with a mission “to make the Bible available to every person in a language and format each can understand and afford, so all people may experience its life-changing message.” ABS works with other ministries and Bible Societies across the globe in collaborative partnerships, and in grants and support. This works out to about one-third of its total revenue is given away to around 60 other nonprofit ministries each year. ABS projects that by 2026, 100% of Scriptures will be translated and available to all languages. The aim of the American Bible Society is to provide translations of the Holy Scriptures that are faithful to the original biblical texts.
